My year in running: 2010

In 2010 I logged 653.29 miles {running/walking}.

I placed 2nd in my old age group {25-29} twice {at the Vinecrusher 5 Miler & at the Elk Grove Fun Run #3}.

I started 2010 with a goal of 1000+++ miles for the year.  I made it more than half way there! 

I had shin splints {a lot}, IT band issues {some of the time}, I pulled a muscle in my back {doing Insanity DVD’s during the summer}, I joined a half marathon training group through my local running store {The Running Zone}, I set a 5k PR in March, I became a marathoner, and I consistently ran all year long {even if some months were lower than desired}.

For 2011 I want to remain injury free.  I’d like to get a new 5k PR and a new 10k PR.  I’m thinking about running another half marathon, but not any time soon.  I want to cross train more, practice yoga, and maintain my fitness.  2010 was the year of racing … I want 2011 to be my year to become a stronger, healthier runner injury free.
