Date Night: March 2011

For our March Date Night we had another “date” during the “day”.  We took advantage of the “free” museum day at Crocker Art Museum {the third Sunday of each month} and went to check out the new wing of the museum.  When we lived downtown, in our first apartment, we were members of the museum, thanks to one of Jon’s aunts that gifted us a membership for Christmas for a couple of years.  We enjoyed spending lazy afternoons walking around the museum but once we moved out of downtown it was less often that we made it to the museum so we stopped being members.  Back in October of 2010 the museum had a grand opening of the new wing and we had not had the opportunity to check it out.

After walking around the museum and checking out the exhibits and the new wing we decided to stop off at another one of our old hangouts from when we lived downtown --- Ernestos Mexican Restaurant.  We use to visit Ernesto’s quite often, since it was really only a couple of blocks from our apartment, and sit at the bar with a cold beer and nachos.  And that is exactly what we did after we left the museum.  Then we capped off our Sunday Funday Date Night with a family dinner at my sister-in-law’s house where we received a bottle of bubbly and two cotton t-shirts from them as anniversary gifts since our anniversary was the next day!
