April went by so quickly. I joined a gym {with a free pass for three months} at the beginning of the month and thankfully I have a workout partner {my sis-in-law} so we meet there usually three days a week for a boot camp style strength session. I try to go about an hour early and workout on the elliptical and/or stationary bike before she gets there. I’m really enjoying cross training. My running is going really well too. I hope to be able to run for a full 30 minutes in the next few weeks. I plan to finish up my “return to running” interval running then start building a solid running base before half marathon & full marathon training starts in the summer. And I definitely plan to continue to cross train!

Current shame-inducing guilty pleasure: a big shopping trip to Kohl’s for workout clothes & Old Navy for everyday clothes
Current Obsessions: fresh tomato & fresh basil salad with mozzarella cheese, olive oil, salt & balsamic vinegar :)
Current Excitement: watching the flowers start to bloom and the plants in the garden grow
Current Triumph: running strong!
Currently Reading: Ultramarathon Man by Dean Karnazes, Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin, Sliding into Home by Kendra Wilkinson and Run Faster by Runner’s World Best and edited by Adam Bean & The Editors of Runner’s World Magazine. I finished In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan, Dream Makers by Nora Roberts and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen {which I started and finished in 4 days!!!}. I’m on a huge reading kick right now and I’m loving it.
