Date Night: June, July, & August 2011

For our June Date Night we attended a concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre where we saw Further.  It was a lot of fun and we got to spend some time with our friends that were also at the show.

We also attended the Comedy Under the Stars performance at Laguna Town Hall.  You bring a blanket, or low chairs, and find a spot on the grass in the amphitheatre.  You can also bring food and drinks.  We brought popcorn and homemade strawberry lemonade slushies.  There were three comedians and it was a lot of fun.

For our July Date Night we attended another Comedy Under the Stars {there are three throughout the summer months}.  We also went to see Harry Potter at Imax in 3D and spent an afternoon at the California State Fair {with free tickets from a blood drive we attended}.

This time we brought a bottle of wine to the Comedy Under the Stars.

We stopped off at Pyramid Brewery to had some beers before seeing Harry Potter at Imax.

We always take photo booth photos when we go to the State Fair and this year marked our seventh year in a row.  I’ve got these photos tapped up on my fridge so I get to see them everyday.   I love them!

For our August Date Night we headed out for dinner on the husband’s birthday and then went to Marilyn’s in Downtown Sacramento to see Hot Buttered Rum, a bluegrass band.  We had a good dinner and drinks and a free birthday sundae to share for the husband’s birthday and the concert was fun.  The husband has seen Hot Buttered Rum a few times and this was actually my second time --- we saw them together at a two day concert we attended in 2007 at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley along with The String Cheese Incident and Railroad Earth.  The husband is really into music and attending live concerts.  He is a big jam band follower and “Dead Head”.  It was fun to see a show on his actual birthday :)
