Three Things Thursday: Blog Maintenance

1.  First I’d like to thank my followers and readers for taking the time to stop by my little blog and leave comments.  Your kind words of wisdom and advice along with encouragement and congratulations mean a lot to me.  I’ve noticed lately that a lot of commenter's do not have their email setup on their accounts so I’m unable to reply via email to your comments.  If your email is not activated then when I get an email that you’ve left a comment the return email address is “noreply-comment at blogger dot com” ---  it’s really a quite simple fix and so I thought I’d share with you all how to do.  I like to reply to comments directly from my email to engage a conversation and build a relationship so if you’ve never gotten a reply from me then most likely your email is not set up on your Blogger account.

  • To set up your email, log into Blogger and from your dashboard click on “Edit Profile”
  • Under “Privacy” click the box that says “Show my email address” and then under “Identity” make sure to enter the email address you want you emails/replies to go in the “Email Address” field
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save Profile”

That’s it.  It’s very simple and only takes a minimal amount of time to complete and now when you leave a comment I can reply directly to you.  Of course you can always email me at jkarkoski003 at yahoo dot com if you have questions or left me a question in a comment and you haven’t heard from me.  Or if you have a topic or blog post idea you think I should write about.  I know I write a lot about my training currently but I’m always open to ideas and suggestions! 


2.  I recently created both a Facebook page for the blog and a Twitter account.  Both can be found on the side bar.  If you’d like to be a Facebook follower then click the “Like” button and if you’d like to follow me on Twitter then click on my Twitter handle {@JRNEthruLife}.  I’m still trying to get the hang of using Twitter so I haven’t really used it very much and there is nothing on my Facebook page yet since I don’t have any followers yet.  My Daily Mile info is also on the side bar, if you use Daily Mile then add me!  I keep track of all my workouts over there :)


3.  I only just realized at the end of August that I never posted my July Monthly Recap.  Yikes!  I’ve got both the July & the August recaps all typed up and ready to go.  Be aware that I’ll be posting those back-to-back sometime this weekend.  And, again, if you have any suggestions for blog topics or posts please send me an email and let me know.  I love suggestions!  I’ve sort-of started a “Let’s Talk About…” series {though I didn’t do one this week} and although I have a few topic ideas I’m hoping for more :)

What’s on your mind today?!?


Last Monday, Labor Day, the husband & I rode 10 miles around town on our bikes.  I took lots of photos so check back later today for a little recap post about that.  And I did a 5 mile tempo run this morning, per my training plan, but I almost didn’t go … I’ll post about that tomorrow!
