Three Things Thursday

1.  Yesterday I got to the gym a little later in the morning that I like and by the time I was ready to do some strength training the weights area was pretty busy so I headed home instead.  Not wanting to miss an opportunity for some squats and the like I decided to do an at home boot camp style workout.  I did a round robin of squats, lunges, dead lifts, and pushups starting with 10 reps and decreasing the reps each set with 9, then 8, then 7 … and so on.  Then I did another round robin of mountain climbers, planks, crunches, Russian twists and leg lifts starting with 10 reps again and decreasing each set.  I followed all that with some pelvic bridges, deep door knob assisted squats, clam shells and crab walks.  Overall it was a great little workout and took me about 36 minutes.  My quads and hamstrings are a little sore but nothing compared to my arm pit areas and my chest from the 50 push-ups!  And they weren’t even real push-ups.  I did them against my picnic table on my back porch cause I’m a wimp.

2.  We’ve {me & the husband} have decided to drop a race from our fall race schedule.  We had planned on running the 20 miler at the Clarksburg Country Run in mid-November but for some reason I kept putting off registering us for it and eventually we just decided we didn’t want to do it.  That means I’ve got a little more wriggle room in my training schedule which is great since we added another half marathon on October 30th.  Last fall we only did one 20 miler while training for CIM {and it took us 4hrs 45mins} so this year I planned it out for several 20+ milers and now that we are not doing that 20 mile race I can move some things around in our training schedule to better fit our needs as CIM 2011 approaches!

3.  This weekend we are planning to go up to Apple Hill for a day of wine tasting and to check out the apple orchards and yummy goodies offered.  Last year was our first trip to Apple Hill and we went at the end of October and had a lot of fun.  The weather is suppose to be beautiful this weekend so we want to take advantage of it while it lasts and make the trip before fall weather really starts to change.

CIMG5261 Last year for Halloween Lucy was a Bumble Bee … this year she has a Hot Dog costume that we picked up for her on clearance last year.
I can’t wait to dress her up and take photos :)

Happy Thursday!
What’s on your mind today?

Well, maybe 3rd time trying to comment will be a charm...I think my computer is having a fit or something!

I have costumes for my dog's, too! Dean will be Hawaiian, but Meg and Maynard need new ones. Meg has been a princess and Maynard has been a clown.
