Meal Plan Monday + Plan for the Week {Aug 27}

I am going to start this Monday morning off by tooting my own horn … I successfully stuck to my Meal Plan last week, didn’t eat out once, lost a few pounds, and FELT GREAT.  Here’s to more of the same this week.

I did end up having a little indulgence over the weekend after our very sweet and amazing friend made some super yummy homemade chocolate cupcakes for the husband’s belated birthday.  They were so good.  I had one after our long run on Saturday morning (it was so good with coffee) and TWO yesterday (one after lunch, one after dinner).  Thankfully, even though they were amazing, they are all gone (no more temptation in the house).

We went to the farmers market yesterday morning and stocked up on all sorts of fruit and veggies for the week.  I’m looking forward to trying Brussels Sprouts for the first time (I’m going to shred them and sauté them in with our stir-fry).  It’s going to be a very busy week so I’m happy to have my meal plan and workout plan all set to help keep me accountable.  I purchased a kettle bell over the weekend and I’m looking forward to getting back to some strength training this week as I learn to incorporate it back into my training plan.  We’ve got a 5k this weekend (a local fun run) and I’m looking forward to it … and I’m looking forward to not racing it.  Racing 5ks are hard.  I’m over that.  Maybe.  (At least that is what I say now … )

Monday ~ Run 2-3 miles + strength + walk
Tuesday ~ AM = Run 30min; PM = speed work (800s)
Wednesday ~ AM = Cross train @ gym + strength ; PM = walk (Wednesday Night Community Walk Club with The Running Zone)
Thursday ~ Run 3-4 miles + walk
Friday ~ Cross train @ gym + strength + walk
Saturday ~ Run 14 miles
Sunday ~ Run 5k
