About Me

Hi, I'm Jesse.  Just a simple girl enjoying married life with my best friend.  Welcome to my little corner of the blog world ... this is my place to share my "Journey Thru Life".

I started my blog randomly in 2008 and it's sort of all over the place, but that's why I love it.  I blog about my running, or lack of running sometimes, the races I've completed and the training that got me to the finish line.  I also share my weekly meal plans and lots of tidbits about life in general including our date nights, anniversaries, trips, our gardening adventures, household projects and craft endeavors, as well as everyday joys and sorrows.  This really is just a place for me to share the happenings in my day-to-day life.

I started dating my husband in 2005, just before graduating from college, and by the end of that year we had moved in together.  In 2007, at my heaviest weight, I started to make some lifestyle changes and decided to start running.  It was a slow start, mostly walking at first, but I stuck with it.  In early 2008 we got engaged and later that year I got more serious about my health, my weight, and my running.  I was knee deep in wedding planning and I knew that I needed to make life long healthy decisions if I was going to be around to spend the rest of my life with the man I love.  By the end of that year I had lost 25lbs {from my heaviest weight in late 2007; but still a ways to go to my ultimate goal weight}, we purchased our first home, and running had become a part of my everyday life.  I'm very lucky, and thankful, to have had my husband by my side to support me and often times carry me along in this journey.

On March 21st 2009 we got married!  It was the happiest day of my life. During the months leading up the wedding, and for a few months afterwards, my running was sparse.  In the late summer of 2009 I decided to really get focused on running again and started with the basics and the Couch to 5k Program again.  After completing the C25k program, my husband and I decided to run a spring 2010 half marathon

2010 ended up being a big year for me and my running.  I ran a total of 653.29 miles and a total of 17 races including two half marathons … and on December 5th 2010 I became a MARATHONER after completing the California International Marathon

I’ve had some setbacks along the way with my running and my weight loss.  But I believe that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be and that life has challenges and setbacks, as well as accomplishments, in order to help us grow.
